Ali's posted recipes reminded me that I've been wanting to share my favorite recipe blog with you all - it's Smitten Kitchen, and the author always has wonderful recipes, as well as lovely (and funny) writing.
Also, just because it's my overall favorite and the only blog I regularly read, and have for years now...Posie Gets Cozy. It's sort of a craft blog, but really it's something so much more... The author, Alicia, was hit by a truck years ago, and nearly lost her leg; looking for something to keep her sane through months of recuperation, she began embroidering, which led to an experimental little store she later closed, but not before the creation of an online newsletter-turned-blog. The success of her blog eventually, recently, led to a published book, and another she's working on now. Her accident also led her husband to change careers, from geology to nursing. They live in Portland, Oregon, with a corgi and two cats, and she once described her blog as a love letter to her husband and the life they almost didn't get to have. Yes, she does make me cry sometimes, but in a good way - and she makes me laugh at least as often. Mostly, her writing reminds me to see the lovely little things in each day.
