I realized this morning just how much I have in common with Eskimos. Both of us have about twenty different names for snow. As I was snowblowing, a large overhead branch dumped about 20 pounds of snow down my neck and immediately I came up with a whole bunch of new names for this wonderful white stuff.
Isn't winter great?

1234 snow melting on the floor! (To the tune of 1234 by Feist--it's a wonderful song!)
ReplyDeleteMaybe that's the REASON why Eskimos have so many names for snow - there you are, with your sled-dog-powered snow-blower, clearing a path to the igloo, and you get a big clump of snow inside the neck of your sealskin suit - same reaction, I'm sure! :)
