Technical...peculiarities?

If anyone wants to post a video, it seems the blog settings need to be changed. When you are creating the post, open the "settings" tab at the top of the page, go to the bottom of the "basic" page (which is the one that opens automatically anyways) and, where it says "post editor," select "old editor" rather than "updated editor" and click "save settings." Then, you can go back to "posting," choose "edit posts" and re-open the one you were writing. There should now be a slightly different tool bar right above the text box, with a little filmstrip icon, and you can choose that to upload a video.  (You can also choose "customize" from the top right corner of the main blog page to get the the settings change page directly, before you begin to create the post.)

The "updated editor" does seem to be the one that works best for photos and such, so I'll leave that as the standard setting for now, but we can change it back and forth whenever we want.

I read somewhere that Google is trying to direct traffic to its own YouTube by making it difficult to post video right to the blogs, which I guess is the explanation for this silliness...

love, Jess
